Apple’s Next MacBook: What the Leaks Reveal

In films that they’ve uploaded, at least two Russian creators open what looks to be the next 14-inch MacBook Pro base model with an M4 chip. Apple is expected to be launching the laptops in November, however, they haven’t made an official announcement yet.

Over the weekend, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman referred to a video broadcast by the Russian YouTube account Wylsacom. He draws attention to the fact that the packaging is identical to that of the M3 MacBook Pro, right down to the label’s wallpaper, which Apple usually changes once a year.

The host configures the laptop and does some Geekbench tests with a 2022 MacBook Air in the 13-minute video. These look to be those benchmarks based on the timeframes and CPU scores displayed in the video. In general, the MacBook Pro depicted in the video meets expectations for models that have minor external modifications but receive minor spec upgrades.

Later on this afternoon, Gurman featured Romancev768, another Russian YouTuber, who had also uploaded a video purporting to be of the M4 MacBook Pro. This year’s wallpaper is on the box, just like in the first video. However, this one also includes a peek at the laptop’s “About This Mac” screen, which reveals an M4 chip.

Gurman described the possible disclosure as “unprecedented,” a remark that leaker ShrimpApplePro also expressed when he stated that “some seller” purported to have 200 MacBook Pros in stock. They wrote, “I think this is the largest warehouse leak I’ve ever seen.” Additionally, this month, ShrimpApplePro released some pictures of what appeared to be leaked 14-inch MacBook Pro packaging.
